..During the 1940's the City of Baltimore received 5 of these American LaFrance 65 foot service aerials, with Truck Co. 15 placing the first one in service on February 24, 1942. In addition to a full complement of truck equipment, they were equipped with a booster pump, 100 gallon tank with booster reel under the back step. They were assigned to Truck Co's. 15, 19, 21, 22, and 24. Truck 22's was demolished in a collision with Engine Co. 46 in 1949, and Truck 15's was re-assigned to Truck Co. 26 in 1954. Pictured is Truck 26, ( Ex Truck 15 ) the first metal aerial ladder to be placed in service in Baltimore City. Several served a number of years in reserve, into the early 70's.
