..In 1937, under a PWA appropriation, the Deluge was placed out of service to have here boilers converted from coal to oil burning, returning to service in October. She was the last of the three steam Fireboats to be so equipped.
..During this out of service period, Engine Co. 39’s one story wood frame station at Fort McHenry was demolished and a new two story house erected on the same site. The wood shingle, and stucco covered two story building was completed for the boats return to service.

..On August 27, 1960, Engine Company 39's new Fireboat, "Mayor J. Harold Grady", arrived in Baltimore from Long Island, NY. At 8:40 AM on August 29, 1960, she was placed in service at which time the Deluge was decommissioned after 49 years of service with Engine 39.
