Tender Boat "Bancroft"

..The motor launch "Bancroft" was owned and operated by the City of Baltimore Bureau of Harbors, based at Municipal Pier No. 7, foot of President Street.
..When the Fire Department Marine Battalion Chief's Tender Boat was out of service for maintenance or repair, the "Bancroft" would be used on loan during this down time.
..When the Fire Department's original Tender Boat was condemned in 1958, due to excessive rot, the "Bancroft" was used for approximately one year until the Fire Department could locate a replacement boat.

..Have not done much research on this vessel yet, but hope to when I get a chance. The little bit of info I have is from one of our retired members, who ran it a few times back in the 1950's. What I know is as follows:

Construction – all wood, motor cabin launch

Propulsion – one (1) gasoline engine, single screw

Fire pumps – none
